An organic form and warm character born from a desire for unique materials and design.

Years ago, when working on a collection of lighting for a new restaurant concept in Toronto, I took a chance designing a fixture that I wasn't sure we could even fabricate. After much research, trials, and errors, the first boulette lamp was created. Each lamp is suspended from a metal boom-like frame and counterweight, the cluster of 8 fixtures forms a beautiful installation.

The eventual goal has been to refine our craft in order to introduce a line of ready-made lighting. Having worked diligently to standardize our methods, we have develeoped the perfect formula for colour and material rigidity.

About fibreglass.

Fibreglass is a versatile material that is known for its lightweight and durable properties. It is made from extremely fine fibers of glass, which are woven together and combined with resin to form a strong and flexible material. It is used in many industries including furniture and lighting fabrication.

In 1950 Charles and Ray Eames introduced their innovative molded fibreglass chairs. This groundbreaking design widely introduced the use of fiberglass into industrial design, revolutionizing the industry forever. Through the next few decades some stunning fibreglass and resin based light fixtures came to be, including the The Table Light by Mitchell Bobrick (c.1950) , the Viscontea hanging light by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, the Kundalini ETA SAT line designed by Guglielmo Berchicci in 1997 and the Monkey Boys / Moooi Random Hanging Light(c. 2002) to name a few. More recently the use of fibreglass is seeing a resurgence of use with newer methods of fabrication and more over because of its timeless beauty and durability. There is a growing movement of design-concious consumers and interior designers who are seeking decorative products with integrity and character. We aim to meet this need with our collection of hand crafted, small batch luminaires.

Perfectly Imperfect.

The nature of fiberglass means that each of our light fixtures are unique and can have characteristics such as small surface cavities and areas of lighter or darker color. These little imperfections make each of our luminaires one of a kind.
